Yet another rig question

What's up ladies and gentlemen,

I'm 10 days away from my trip to Oaxaca, Mexico, where I'll be shooting a surf/travelling documentary.

I got some concerns, however. We (the crew) will be shooting this on 2 Canon 60Ds and a Panasonic GH4.

As for support, all we got is 2 tripods, a top handle (Scorpion Cam Caddie) and a Monopod (Manfrotto) but we were willing to invest the money on another stabilizer.

Which would you consider, under those circumstances, a smarter choice: a steadicam rig (like the Glidecam HD4000) or a shoulder rig (a cheap one though).

I like the look of a proper steadicam shot, but I don't think we'll be doing as much tracking shots, and neither of us have any experience with those, hence why I considered the shoulder rigs a better fit. We'll shoot the surfing mostly mounted on a tripod, but the handheld part (the rest) is pretty much uncovered. Think a rig is pretty much essential, right?

Mind you, it's a 30 day trip and the budget is as low as possible.

What you say?

Any good cheap, but good, rig options for a grad like me?

***Important note: We'll ship a box from BH to Mexico, so if you have any recommendations that's sold on that store... even better!
