Hey Michael,
Thanks for your detailed response, very much appreciated. Back in the day when I was more editor than motion designer I used to record VO's every now and then in the studio I was working for. I know a little bit about room configurations but less about how to set-up the gear (especially the microphone, pre-amps, sound cards, etc.) Btw would I need a special sound card for day to day tasks or a normal off-the shelf card would do?
Like I said, I'm not looking to take the bread off the sound recordist's / editor's table but on small jobs some clients told me they would have prefered to keep everything under one roof.
Again, thanks a lot for your help!
Cheers!
Andrei
Hey Guy,
I'm mostly interested in recording VO's for some of the spots I'm working on. So no foley, just voice. This being said I would probably record directly into a computer.
Still no option to match frame from subclips to clips. Bad Adobe.
Hey Guy,
I'm sure that if you switch your perspective a bit, Interstellar will look a lot more coherent. I went to see this movie with a large degree of skepticism but needless to say it suprised me enough to convince me to write this review. Give it another shot.
I haven't seen "Tree of Life". It's on my to watch list, but thanks for reminding me.
Andrei
I was impressed by Interstellar. So impressed I sat down and wrote a sort of a review - comparative study - commentary cross-over. I mostly address story issues, but in a time when most films are devoid or have very limited stories, I think it's crucial to give more attention to good story telling when it is needed. Here's a link to my review. Comments and critiques are welcome: https://medium.com/@tenthirteen/interstellar-a-promise-a94426299fae
Hey Rob,
It certainly has something. The pacing and rhythm are right, the music is good. It's a good "vibe" video as I use to call this type of approach.
A couple of ideas. CGI looks sufficient at the moment. A little better CGI (like making good use of transfer modes in AE to make the lighting effects really stand out) would help. Not critical but still important. It would also be nice to use more sound effects and editing even if the music has an important role.
Anyway, nice work all around. Keep them coming!
Cheers!
