Best website builder for filmmakers?

Hey guys, I'm creating my website right now and have been playing around with a few templates on Squarespace but I'm wondering if there's anything else out there that you guys could recommend.

Although Squarespace has customizable templates (very nicely designed), it seems to prioritize still images when it comes to the formatting of media on the website. There is a particular way I want to showcase my showreel as well as the individual projects I've done, and no matter how much I tweak, it's just not coming out the way I want it.

I know about Wix, but I haven't given it much attention because to be honest, all websites I've seen from Wix have been very poor. Not sure if that's because of the people who made it or if it's an inherent Wix issue, but they didn't seem very "clean" to me.

So if there is a site-builder that you know is good with formatting video media in its templates, please share. If you've made a website from them I'd love to have a look and get a feel for how it looks and functions.

Thanks!

I would say use wordpress. It's free. Its plug-ins are mostly free. Its themes are free.

(there are some paid plug-ins and themes but they are not offered by wordpress themselfes and of course you don't have to use them)

It's mostly easy to use. Very easy if you just want to make a blog.
But it's also very customizable if you want to do some scripting with php and html.

Being new to the world of web design, I prefer using drag&drop website builders like this one http://www.templatemonster.com/moto-cms-3-templates.php . If you’re wondering about how to create a website, then this website builder is right for you. Enjoy setting your site up!!

I have used two services Yola and Weebly. Both were at the free version. I have switched to Weebly mostly because it seems to have a much easier interface. Everything is drag and drop. There is a Youtube widget as well as the ability to embed videos into the site. The downside to Weebly is that you have to have a paid membership for a custom site search box.

I'm actually a big fan of Wix. It's not perfect, but I think you get out what you put in. It's incredibly easy to use and pretty customizable.

With that being said, wordpress is very flexible. But, it's also somewhat difficult to do anything that diverges from the theme your using. Say you wanted to change something specific or move something that the theme didn't allow for. You'd either have to spend a lot of time trying to work around it. Or, you could hire someone to code it for you.

Personally, for my "business card" website, I use wix, since I can easily change it when I need to and it's very simple.

For my music library with e-commerce and membership functions, I use wordpress and another music library specific piece of software to do the heavy lifting. However, I had to hire someone to set up the wordpress site because it was outside of my abilities to get it the way i wanted.

If I had just wanted a simple site with few alterations, though, a wordpress theme would probably have worked without needing to hire anyone.

The blog post is commendable. The article offers a look at the Best website builder for filmmakers. Filmmakers used to search for website builders to create a website of their own. Hiring the best website builders will help filmmakers to build a website as per their wish and the article mentions that ‘Although Squarespace has customizable templates, it seems to prioritize still images when it comes to the formatting of media on the website.’

What have you finally chosen?
as far as I heard Wix is not perfect win terms of SEO
Wordpress is the easiest way but you'd still need a developer or a web studio to help you at some points

I'm also a newbie here. I've tried WIX but that wasn't for me. Has anyone used assemble.me - they seem to be a film only website builder. Are they any good?
