Emily Buder is a film curator at The Atlantic. She is the former Managing Editor of NFS. Article Comment – Sundance-Winning 'Last Men in Aleppo': Making Cinema Amid Chaos and War

With all due respect to the commenters above, Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley both openly support Assad's regime and regularly publish in Russian propaganda papers. Both journalists write for various conspiracy sites, including SOTT.net, The Duran, MintPress, and Globalresearch.ca.

Of course, Westerners should always remain critical and vigilant when supporting organizations in foreign conflicts. However, contrary to what Beeley has gone on record saying, not all opponents of Assad's regime are "terrorists." No one has sufficient evidence that the White Helmets are either "terrorists" or not who they purport to be.

I think it is important to note that these two journalists and their supporters have been extensively covered, and cast in a favorable light, by 21 Century Wire and RT, the former a veritable "fake news" source that consistently reports that climate change is a myth, among other things, and the latter a Russian newspaper.

Conspiracy theories are dangerous.
