Simple and easy-to-use no-registration upload and sharing of files. We use the Quic protocol, so We Love Google Chrome Browser :)
I've used Dropbox because of how simple it is. Drawback are that you have less space than sites like Google Drive so I've had as many people as I can sign up to get me more space.
Of course if you pay for storage then you aren't limited
Wetransfer if you're uploading files to quickly send over to people you are collaborating with. It gets deleted after a few days to a week if I remember correctly, plus it's 2gb upload limit for non users
For anything under 2gb wetransfer is hard to beat. Anything over that we use myairbridge, up to 20gb for free. I've found it very slow to upload to so I'd avoid it for anything urgent if you can. We tend to send previews with either wetransfer or straight on to vimeo and then send full quality finished stuff with air bridge.
Cannot reccomend http://digitalpigeon.com more highly! Its the first file-transfer service I decided was worth paying for. WAYYY better than hightail and wetransfer. Transfers to and from are super fast, like SUPER FAST.
Like hightail, you can setup a dropbox esque page that allows clients to send you files via your account.

You can choose file server location (asia pacific, america, europe etc) and its pretty damn cheap. I pay ~$30 AUD / month and get 20gb of transfers in and out, extra GB are charged at $0.70/gb. So its pretty affordable for me as a freelancer.
And what best, it looks fucking sliiick when you send a file using it.
(oh and also, the developers are super active. I made a suggestion for an improvement and it was implimented 2 days later. they have a voting system accessable directly from the main page that lets you suggest features and vote on new ones. which is a big tick for me)

Although my internet connection may be fast, the slow server speeds from Dropbox hold me back. I just switched to Google Drive. I've heard good things about it.
i use https://www.getsync.com/ between my devices and i can send files directly to any body by simply gather the files to send in one folder and share the read only code to whoever i want to send it to, and viola. only who receive the read only shared code will receive an encrypted transfer of my files directly to his device, no cloud, no encryption background needed
the free version is good enough but the pro version grasp more control over a large number of clients/devices of your network
not to mention the unlimited size of the folder will free your limits on the other solutions

I pay a yearly rate to DropBox and I love it ($99/year for 1TB). I work outside LA and NYC so my clients usually have to send me large HD files and DropBox has been the best solution.

From the perspective of a Videographer/Editor and Animator, here are the reasons why I highly recommend Mega as a transfer+storage+cloud site:
1.Highly encrypted.
Your files are encrypted when stored and encrypted when uploaded/downloaded/sent.
Unlike other transfer and cloud based sites like WeTransfer (www.wetransfer.com), your information is not encrypted, thus open to prying eyes.
Mega uses a unique user generated code that users can download and store, this is called a master key in case a user forgets their password and gets locked out of an account.
As every storage account is 256 encrypted, only the viewer can view or access their data, this locks out Mega and any hackers that are after your information.
Privacy may not be an issue for some, but I am sure many would want to make sure that there information is safe during storage and when transfered.
Once a file is uoloaded, a unique link is generated that can be sent to someone as read-only, additional encryption is a key that is required to download the file which can be sent to the recieving person selerately.
2.Size.
There are no limits with size of file transfers, 50GB free with every new user, paid users get 1TB and more of storage facilities.
3. User interface (U.I).
Great platform that synced with alla your devices automatically. Sync your phone or tablet library to upload and back-up whenever you like.
Mega is the way to go.
We use WavePost (http://www.wavepost.net) and love it. It allows any file size, and you can send people links to videos in pages with your own background, logo, etc. It also can encode the videos to be HTML5-optimized so anyone can play them (desktop, mobile, etc).
I use http://www.myairbridge.com/ . It allows me to keep single file transfers off my GoogleDrive, and without some of the bugs that happened lately with large files on GDrive.
It's exactly like WeTransfer,
but with a 20 GB free cap.
and 100GB cap with an account.
No problems or unstable state to report up to this day.
Transfer on their server, use a link or an email. BAM. Best service i tried so far.
To consume fast though.
Also, Squarespace Support use something Called uploadpie.com/ , which lets you customize the period available for consuming the file, but I am unaware of limits. It's super fast.
I've been transferring files & editing collaboratively using Google Drive on the cloud in tandem with the Google Drive app that syncs files to a local hard drive. I started off with $10 bucks a month for 1T but then cancelled it after my university provided unlimited Google Drive space (reason enough to consider returning to school). Now I use the Google Drive app on my MAC to edit and sync files with AVID Media Composer & Final Cut Pro. Each editor has their own sequence for cut comparison with a master sequence containing final edits. After you cut using the local Google Drive app, it automatically syncs in the background to the shared version on the cloud. The only thing to watch for is that two editors don't simultaneously edit the same sequence. Running off a screener for comparison viewing or to send a client is ez pz as well. Welcome to the new world of collaborative video editing on the cloud! This new trick is a game changer for an old dog like myself.

Most cloud-storages offer link-sending, like Dropbox, Google Drive and Mega (https://mega.co.nz/).
For transferring between your own devices I can recommend BitTorrent Sync too.

1. Send files up to 20GB free.
2. Creates a link from the start of the upload giving soon to send without having to wait for shipping confirmation email .
3. If the net go down he goes right after reset.

I recommend learning to use SSH. If that isn't appealing, I'd say go with Mega (50gb free) or use Web RTC.
