The Golden Globes were back on TV, albeit on a Tuesday night, handing out awards like they were not canceled a few years agoThe 80th ceremony took place at the Beverly Hilton and was hosted by Jerrod Carmichael.

Streamer Peacock showed the ceremony, which was also live on NBC. The censors were out, bleeping bad words, including an Eddie Murphy joke about Will Smith and a fun Jennifer Coolidge moment.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has tried to make up for sins of the past, and now boasts "a voting pool that is 52 percent female and 51.5 percent racially and ethnically diverse," according to The Hollywood Reporter
