HD, 4K or 6K for Television

As we move forward in capture resolution, I noticed that the television/cable market delivery packages are still 1080 (some 720)... So my work is edited and graded in 4K, then post online (YT/Vimeo) in 4K, but also building a special "broadcast package" that is only 1080. Some distribution channels don't even want the 4K version as a back up. ??

Answered last week on the podcast! IMHO opinion we'll be delieving 1080p for TV for DECADES, while streaming moves to 4k then 8k and then eventually 16k.

I think it depends mostly on your budget.

8K is a higher resolution than 4K, so in terms of technology, there's no doubt that 8K is better. But TVs capable of native 8K resolution are still relatively new, and therefore still very expensive. Here I agree that the choice depends on the sum of money you are ready to spend. I personally ended up buying a 4K TV and a FireStick 4K Max (this guide https://www.firesticktricks.com/firestick-4k-vs-fire-tv-cube.html helped me make the choice). I finally cut the cord and can watch movies in high quality. No regrets.
