Venus Optics will display the brand new prototypes of the Laowa lenses at NAB.
The Laowa OOOM 25-100 1/2.9 and 12mm t/2.9 Zero-D are making their North American debut here at NAB.
Laowa OOOM 25-100 t/2.9 Cine
The "OOOM" stands for "Out Of Our Minds", which Venus Optics says describes the company's ideology when designing lenses. With 32mm coverage, the lens covers a bigger image than other S35 zooms and can cover the aspect ratios of Super35 sensors.
The 4x zoom factor adds some flexibility and the lens has a par-focal and fixed t/2.9 aperture design that helps the focus point and brightness remain the same in the entire range.
The Laowa OOOM price isn't decided but it will come in below $10,000 USD, and will ship late 2019.
