Pointing out that we neglected to have a diversity conversation is not the same as cancel culture. We would be doing a disservice to our industry if we didn't acknowledge the very real diversity and equity issues within it and the complexities at play.

Thank you for listening to our podcast and for sharing this with us. You're right: to only address one singular pairing or to prioritize one set of words to address over the other certainly does not take intersectionality into account. In fact, the act of prioritizing them at all may come from an office/white male dominant cultural norm. There are definitely compounded layers that BIPOC women have had to face in the film industry and beyond. We would be remiss if we didn't use this platform to help address the inequities, difficulties, and microaggressions our colleagues in the business are currently facing. Hi! I've been testing many of the cameras in the "less than $1000 range." While I have mostly been looking at stills, I wouldn't count out the Sony a6400 (and not just because it's my favorite one in this range). It feels the most sturdy and Sony's AF is always helpful.

Also, the Nikon Z 50 that just came out has a pancake lens for it and is user friendly.

You can always rent these through LensRentals or BorrowLenses (both are available during this time) if you want to try them out before buying!
